It’s been over a week since Trump publicly went on the world stage and sided with Vladimir Putin over our own intelligence agencies.
So far, the Republicans who are supposed to represent Tennesseans in Congress haven’t done much to stand up for us against a foreign adversary.
Rep. Diane Black, for example: Sat next to and stared adoringly at President Trump as he tried to cover up his weakness and convince us he “misspoke” in Helsinki. She has taken no action on Russian interference.
Rep. Marsha Blackburn: Issued a statement. Took no action.
Sen. Alexander: Issued a statement. Took no action.
Sen. Corker: Issued a statement and sent a couple of tweets. Took action on tariffs — but not on Russian interference.
Republican leaders have a choice: hold this president accountable for blaming America for Russia’s history of aggression, adversarial behavior, and interference in our elections, or stand with this president and send a message that it’s fine for a foreign power to attack Americans. Inaction is not good enough. We’re paying attention, and we’re not backing down.
Since Republicans show no sign of standing up to this president by using the powers available to them, we’ll elect leaders who will. But we need your help to get every voter to the polls.
Will you give $50 or whatever you can today to help us get every possible Democrat to the polls on November 6?
November can’t come soon enough.
